This was going to be my first build. I've wanted a lowrider trike since I was in my 20's. I had never seen one anywhere except Lowrider magazine and I had always thought it was cool to have something like that... Exercise AND have a cool way to do it. It doesn't hurt either that I remember them being mentioned in a Beastie Boys' song when I was a kid.
Now here's the sad(Stupid?) part..... I've had some health issues and I won't be able to keep this bike.... I literally JUST bought it. It sure does look fresh though... I had these same issues BEFORE I bought it, but I just couldn't help myself. I figured even if I couldn't ride it, I could just have it around like some guys that keep cars and motorcycles in their garages... But I guess I have to wake up and smell the coffee. It's hard to accept I guess, but I'll never get to ride it so I just can't rationalize keeping it.
I had some cool plans for it. I was going to paint it. Although the paint is perfect, I've wanted a red Schwinn since I Was a kid. I was planning on swapping out the wheels for some different ones with more spokes.... And I wanted to ditch the basket and build a box back there, either for a stereo, or I was thinking of making it into an ice cream bike and adding a freezer so I could sell paletas around town... Oh well... These are the breaks!
